Marrakech Marathon & Half-Marathon is a unique running experience in one of the most beautiful cities of the world. The Marathon course flat and fast and takes you by numerous historic sights and landmarks in Marrakech. Also the climate is perfect for runners!

Marathon: 42,195 km & Half-Marathon: 21,097 km (Approved by I.A.A.F & A.I.M.S)

Supply stations: The points of supply are available all at every 5 km (water, and orange sections) until arrival. The sponge stations are available every 5 km staring from the 7^th km.

Timing & Signposting: Timing appears regularly during the course and by a clock at arrival - Signposting of the course materialized by ground and by panels.

Programme/ Package 1: Marathon Tour

Friday 28^th January 2011: Flight from London to Marrakech. Meeting & assistance at Marrakech Airport and transfer to the EL ANDALOUS HOTEL 4**** - Check-in, Dinner & overnight

Saturday 29^th January 2011: Breakfast at the hotel, followed by the distribution of the race numbers (for runners) then we leave the hotel for a morning guided tour of Marrakech – Lunch at leisure and transfer back to the hotel for a relaxation – In the afternoon you can join us for an excursion to the to the OURIKA Valley in the foothill of the High Atlas Mountains or you can relax at the hotel. – Dinner & overnight at the hotel.

Sunday 30^th January 2011: gathering at the reception of the hotel after breakfast then we walk to the start of the race (Marathon / Half-Marathon) about 5 minutes walk to the start. Hammam (Moroccan Traditional steam bath) + Massage after the race. Dinner & overnight at the hotel.

Monday 31^st January 2011: Breakfast at the hotel, then transfer to Marrakech Airport for the return flight.

TICHKA HOTEL 4****

The Tichka is a 130-room hotel that was greeted with delight when it opened in 1986 for its tongue-in-cheek take of traditional Moroccan architecture. The high atrium reception area is lovely, while the decor in the two restaurants (stunning palm tree columns in the international one and black and yellow striped columns in the Moroccan) is striking. There is a gorgeous bar in deep red with a beaten-copper ceiling, and the hotel also boasts one of the best pools in town, set in a well tended garden with lawns and a terrace where a buffet lunch and dinner are served (weather permitting).

Rooms are air-conditioned and have a mini-bar, safety deposit box, telephone and satellite TV, and there is 24-hour room service. Although it is located on the northern edge of town, it takes no more than 10 minutes to get into the Medina (old city) by taxi (the fare is around £3 in a small taxi, in 2009).

The Tichka also has a Hammam with massage. There is a news-stand / boutique at the entrance to the hotel
